Guru Pay is a Lithuania-based electronic money institution providing payment services to private and business customers across Europe and beyond. Licensed and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania, the company offers dedicated IBAN accounts, SEPA and SWIFT transfers, foreign exchange services, and flexible payment solutions.

The opportunity:

Guru Pay is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Tech Lead to guide the technical direction of a customer-facing product area, such as onboarding, online banking, or the mobile app.


You will continue writing production code while helping the team make sound architectural decisions, maintain high engineering standards, and balance delivery speed with the security and reliability requirements of fintech.


You will work closely with the Engineering Manager, who is responsible for the team, capacity, and delivery, while you focus on the technical direction and health of the product area.

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute hands-on across backend, frontend, and, where needed, mobile.
  • Guide architecture, service boundaries, APIs, and technical trade-offs.
  • Help the team make aligned, practical technical decisions.
  • Take on complex work that spans multiple services or teams.
  • Set a high standard through code reviews, testing, and day-to-day engineering.
  • Identify technical risks early and communicate them clearly.
  • Break down large technical initiatives into smaller, deliverable increments.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Platform, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams.
  • Improve observability, production readiness, and incident follow-up.
  • Help the team use AI coding tools and shared engineering practices effectively.

What Guru Pay expects from you:

  • 6+ years of experience building and running production web applications.
  • Previous experience providing technical direction, whether formally as a Tech Lead or as a senior engineer within a team.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel.
  • Solid experience with React and TypeScript.
  • The ability to understand systems end to end and make practical architectural decisions.
  • A product-oriented mindset and the ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term quality.
  • Confidence working independently, solving ambiguous problems, and introducing improvements.
  • Clear communication and the ability to align technical decisions with different stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice to have:

  • React Native or Expo experience, including mobile app releases.
  • DevOps or infrastructure exposure, including AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with observability and production incident response.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, an EMI, or another regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies.
