MORE ABOUT THE COMPANY https://www.samesystem.com/

SameSystem is a Danish Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company developing an advanced workforce management platform for the retail and food service industries. As a market leader in Northern Europe, the company is continuing its expansion across Europe.

SameSystem is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer who can take ownership of tasks from analysis through delivery. You will work on a complex product used across web and mobile platforms, contributing to its architecture, scalability, performance, and overall quality.

The core product runs on a single Rails API alongside several supporting microservices. Depending on your experience and strengths, you will join either the Schedule & Performance squad, which develops the platform’s core functionality, or the growing Integrations squad, which builds client integrations.

What you’ll do:

  • Analyse software requirements and translate them into technical solutions, selecting the best approach based on trade-offs.
  • Develop high-quality Ruby on Rails code with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and testability.
  • Take ownership of tasks throughout the full development lifecycle – from architecture and technical design to implementation, unit testing, delivery, and maintenance.
  • Work independently while collaborating with other engineers and architects on new features and technical decisions.
  • Recommend improvements to the team and leadership that help optimize the application and improve product quality.
  • Write unit tests and take responsibility for the quality of your work.
  • Review code and share engineering knowledge and best practices across the development team.
  • Explore and implement AI-powered solutions to automate and optimize development and product processes.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 4 years of strong, hands-on Ruby on Rails experience.
  • The ability to work independently and own technical tasks end-to-end.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining complex production applications.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, performance, scalability, and testability.
  • A quality-focused approach, including extensive automated test coverage and regular code reviews.
  • Familiarity with microservices, service-oriented architecture, AWS, or other cloud technologies.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience with JavaScript and web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JSON, AJAX, jQuery, or Bootstrap is a plus.

What we offer:

  • Culture which is built on continuous learning, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Modern office in Vilnius (Park Town, Lvivo g. 105A) with relaxation areas, free snacks, and meals.
  • Gym membership and monthly allowances to enhance your workday.
  • Professional development opportunities – international conferences, courses, and internal training.
  • International experience – business trips to Denmark and collaboration with world-class specialists.
  • Hybrid work.
  • A short interview process: an introductory recruiter call of up to 30 minutes, followed by one technical interview with the CTO.
  • Salary €4000 – €7000 (gross) per month.
